Day 187: The weaning pooh

Let’s lay it on the line. Weaning pooh. You never hear about it until you have a baby and then you hear war stories. It came up the sides. It was horrific. The smell was awful. You’ll never forget your 1st weaning pooh.

Well. I’m not sure to be honest. Yup, the 1st poops smell pretty much like roses if you breast feed. It’s an odd sweet smell. Although I wouldn’t necessarily moisturise my face with it, it really is quite a neutral poop. We’ve been feeding her formula since about week 3 and it’s from then that I noticed it changed into something more challenging to the nose. Then since we’ve started weaning, well it’s changed again. Stronger smelling, more recognisable food stuffs in it and generally, bigger. But I don’t think it’s horrendous, not yet. Meat poop’s thee worst, I’ve heard.

I’ll keep you posted.
